Summary
Directs all sales activities within markets assigned to ensure facilities are receiving appropriate number of referrals in order to meet budgeted census and payer mix. Provides oversight and supervision to all external Marketing and Nurse Liaisons representing Sava facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises the activities of the sales staff. Responsible for census development at facilities within the specified markets. Reports on progress of sales and census development efforts and maintains ongoing communication regarding census development results.
Closely supervises the sales staff to ensure appropriate time management is in place and that staff is obtaining results from sales activities.
Conducts ongoing coaching of external staff, both through on-site field visits and teleconferences. Spends a minimum of eight (8) days a month in the field with the facility sales teams.
Develops and helps implement strategic plans with the sales teams in the assigned markets that:
Identify new and existing key customers with the ability to refer patients to company facilities Identifies preferred provider networks needed to drive sales and profitability
Evaluates achievement of assigned sales targets and is responsible for improvement of payer mix net revenue. Motivates team to achieve set conversion objectives.
Assists the sales team in identifying current customers that have established referral relationships and assists to maintain these relationships by problem solving issues and concerns.
Reviews business development priorities with the DVPSM on a weekly basis. Reviews business development priorities with the DVPSM on a quarterly basis. Ensures all Sales Reports and MPGs are accurate, timely, and used effectively.
Reviews census management practice guidelines, analyzes trends, and takes action to avert deterioration of skilled and long-term market share.
Assists with the development of marketing plans for facility or area staff to promote census development. Makes recommendations to alter strategies as market conditions change.
Develops and maintains primary responsibility for relationship with key referral sources including physicians and managed care organizations.
Works closely with the Division Director of Managed Care to promote utilization of current and existing managed care contracts. Assists with region and facility training on managed care utilization and is available as a resource to facilities to address managed care questions and issues.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing or equivalent training in business or sales management.
Three (3) to five (5) years experience in sales and marketing within the healthcare industry with proven results in building census.
Two (2) years of management experience required.
Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant and progressive healthcare leadership experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
Experience in directing sales activities and managing multi-facility environments.
Knowledge and Skills
Thorough understanding of health care market, healthcare delivery system, referral arrangements, and financial principles.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate work.
Familiar with medical terminology.
Superior presentation skills both one-on-one and group.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
